Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a government body in the field of culture and sports.

The Ministry carries out its activities in cooperation with other government bodies, public authorities, public associations and other organizations.

The system of Ministry is made of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport regions and Tashkent city, district (city) Departments of Cultural Affairs and Sports, "Uzbektheatre" Association, "Uzbeknavo” Variety Arts Association, "Uzbekraks"'Association National Dance, "Uzbek State Circus", Republican Fund "Uzbekmuseum" and other cultural, sporting and educational institutions under the Ministry.

State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan - the largest in the Central Asian region and an exclusive compendium of unique works of Eastern and Western European art. It was founded in 1918 on the basis of a small collection of 500 exhibits of Russian and Western European art – painting, sculpture, furniture, porcelain, bronze, etc.

Over XX century, as a result of collecting and research work, the museum's collection reached about 50 thousand exhibits - a work of art of Uzbekistan, the countries of the East, Russian and Western European art. Such a rich diversity and a wide range of collection material cannot be found in any of the museums in the territory of Central Asia.

Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan is the organisation under the Ministry of Culture, a creative-production association on the basis of institutions and enterprises, working in the field of applied arts, fine art and design, a centre providing the implementation of creative ideas, art projects and art scientific researches as well as an experimental and practical basis of the educational system. The main activities of the Academy are creative, educational, scientific and advocacy work.
