The results from your Aptis ESOL exam are presented in three ways:

  • Numerical score: a score from 0 to 50 for each component
  • CEFR level for each skill
  • An overall CEFR level.

Printed and digital formats of the Aptis ESOL certificate are equally valid and available to all test takers. 

If you need to submit your certificate to a receiving organisation, please check with them to find out if they accept a copy sent by email or require a paper copy.

If you need to submit a paper copy of your certificate, when printing please ensure to: 

  • select A4 paper size only
  • select back-to-back and colour print settings
  • use A4 120 gsm white paper only

Each Candidate certificate is accompanied by a digital badge with the CEFR level which can be shared on social media profiles. This feature enables candidates to showcase their achievements to increase their employability prospects and make their portfolio stand out.

Your Aptis ESOL test results will be issued between 48 and 72 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays) after the date of the test and will be sent to you by e-mail.

If you are not happy with your results, you can request your test to be re-marked. This service is known as Enquiry on Results. You can make an Enquiry on Results request at any point up to eight weeks after the test day. The current fee is 648,000 UZS (40 GBP).

How to submit an Enquiry on Results?

You should submit your Enquiry on Results request by emailing us at info@britishcouncil.uz email address together with a proof of payment.

Please note that according to the Aptis ESOL Terms and Conditions, the British Council does not allow candidates, test centres or institutions to see or review the answers of an Aptis ESOL tests in any instance of the marking process and/or as part or after an Enquiry into Results. This is in line of practice of other Awarding Boards and the British Council would not provide exam answers under a subject access request.

How does it work?

You may only ask for a re-marking of the entire test, and not for a single component.  

Grammar and vocabulary, reading and listening components checks are conducted by the system, to ensure they have been marked accurately.

The speaking and writing components are re-marked by senior examiners. Re-marked test results are considered final.

If your overall CEFR level increases after the re-marking, you will be refunded the full enquiry on results fee, and we will issue you with a new Aptis ESOL certificate.

If your CEFR level remains the same or changes in a single component, but the overall CEFR level does not change, the fee will be retained, and you will be informed.

The outcome of the Enquiry on Results is considered final. The results from the remarking process will be available after ten working days.

Your Aptis ESOL certificate is printed within 10 working days of your test date. Certificates are sent by courier delivery.

Delivery via courier can take up to 14 working days from the test date.  

If you registered through an Aptis ESOL partner centre or another institution, your Aptis ESOL certificate is sent directly to them. They are then responsible for issuing your certificate to you.

Please note that the British Council does not offer an in-person collection service for certificates at any of its centres in Uzbekistan.

If you took Aptis ESOL before the 24 April 2025, the certificate issued to you confirms the CEFR level achieved in the country you took the test. However, it does not contain the level of the qualification in England, where Ofqual is the regulator. The British Council will issue a corrected version of the certificate to those learners who request this. If you wish to receive a replacement certificate free of charge, please contact the British Council.
