How and when can I apply for special arrangements?
Applications for special arrangements or modified versions must be submitted six to eight weeks in advance of your test date.
To apply for special arrangements, you should contact +998 71 205 0660 or info@britishcouncil.uz by the above deadline, detailing:
- the test date you want to register and the test location
- the type of special arrangements you require
- any previous test accommodations.
Your application must be supported by medical evidence, no more than 2 years old, which should meet the following criteria:
- be legible and either in English or Uzbek
- be an original document on headed paper, bearing the name and signature of a registered practitioner
- give a clear statement of your condition and how this justifies the need for special arrangements.
The British Council will review your application and will respond as soon as possible with the accommodations available for your test. We will accommodate every test taker to the best of our abilities, but please note that not all requested accommodations may be granted.
What type of special arrangement and support can we offer you?
Although arrangements can be provided from the available options below, each application is treated individually, and will be considered accordingly.
Types of special arrangements:
- Changes to the delivery.
- Changes to the test format
- Support equipment or assistive technology
Type 1 - Changes to the delivery:
- extra time within allowance
- room accommodation / separate room
- colour filters / contrast mode / magnifier
- longer supervised breaks
- reader / amanuensis
- physical assistance
- presence of staff for additional prompt / presence of a familiar person
Type 2 - Changes to the test format:
- P&P tests / P&P large font exam
- component exemption
- braille test (Grade 1/un-contracted or Grade 2/contracted)
- specially produced test for Screen Reader Software
- F2F Speaking test (adapted with or without pictures)
Type 3 – Support equipment or assistive technology:
- special keyboard
- hearing aid
- noise-silencing headphones
- special desk
- visual cue cards
- screen Reader Software
- special magnifying equipment
- special audio equipment
