Ministry of Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

One of the main functions of the ministry is ensuring of the development of theatre, music, ballet, variety, circus and folk art, giving full support to creative teams in the creation of works that reflect the bright pages of history of the nation, its contemporary life, the experience of independent development.

Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre

Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre as the “Turon” group was organised on February 27, 1914 with the first play ‘Padarqush’ (The killer of the father). In 1933 the theatre was given the academic degree and was called Uzbek State Theatre named after Hamza. On September 21 2001, with the Presidential decree № 2942 it was given the name of Uzbek National Academic Drama Theatre. 

The plays of different genres are staged in the theatre – comedies, dramas, tragedies, and the works of classical and modern authors.

"O'zbekteatr" Creative - Production Association

"O'zbekteatr" Creative - Production Association was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on March 26, 1998 of No PD 1980 with the aim of studying, enrichment and promotion of the centuries-old traditions of performing arts in Uzbekistan, comprehensive development of theatrical art, the further strengthening of its material and technical base, ensuring active participation of theatre workers in the implementation of spiritual and educational reforms in our country, the creation of artistic works, praising national and human values.

The target audience of radio stations is socially active part of population at the age of 30-45. In total, the population coverage is more than 20 million people.
