Miranda was born within the sound of Bow Bells and is the daughter of renowned stage and screen actor Barry Foster and singer Judith Shergold. Although her parents discouraged her from following in their footsteps, Miranda was bitten by the performance bug. In her first major role she played Anne Page opposite Ben Kingsley in the BBC TV adaptation of The Merry Wives of Windsor. She has since played Charmian to Judi Dench’s Cleopatra and Cordelia to Anthony Hopkins’ Lear at the National.  Her first job at the Globe was Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet in 2009, directed by Dominic Dromgoole.
