In 2019, the British Council announced an open-call among Uzbekistan residents to search for novice art and creative managers with limited experience in organising cultural events in the urban environment. Based on the results, six participants were selected and invited to the study tour to the Manchester International Festival and Supersonic (Birmingham) festivals in July 2019. One of the goals of this trip was to inspire the participants with British culture and get introduced to the format of these festivals to create their own small events. The result of the UK trip was a week-long master class in September 2019 in Tashkent for an entended group of participants including those who could not take part in the trip to these festivals. The main idea of the master class was the creation of an independent project from several selected from the British Council grant, which was awarded to a group of winners.
